Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems Hosts Industry Day

By PEO IWS Public Affairs

Arlington, VA -- Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) hosted an Industry Day at the Sheraton Pentagon City, Jan. 25.

The theme for this year’s PEO IWS Industry Day was “Finding the Best Industry Talent to Solve the Most Complex Problems.” The event connected PEO IWS programs with current and untapped markets of industry talent via a robust schedule of speakers and panels discussing strategic viewpoints, program initiatives, small business opportunities and other relevant topics.

PEO IWS, Rear Adm. Seiko Okano, referred to the event as “a huge success with great participation from a lot of nontraditional and small businesses that have not typically worked with us. It was a great opportunity to make important connections and make sure we get the best talent to work on the Navy's hardest problems.”

Attendees had the opportunity to obtain guidance and updates from PEO IWS senior leadership and program managers to influence their future acquisition expertise in ‘hunting’ for the best talent to solve the U.S. Navy’s most challenging problems. PEO IWS hosted 243 in-person and 352 virtual attendees.

Additionally, the event highlighted 22 Department of Navy organizations, including PEO IWS program offices, the Naval Sea Systems Command’s Small Business Innovation Research office, and test sites including AEGIS Technical Representative and Surface Combat Systems Center Wallops Island, as well as industry partners.

The event allowed for the PEO and industry to network and share lessons learned and best practices in order to influence the common goal of finding the best industry talent to solve the most complex problems.
