Pearl Harbor, Hawaii –
U.S. Navy Adm. Samuel Paparo, commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, visited Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF), Jan. 10, 2023.
During his visit, Paparo met with senior leadership from PHNSY & IMF to discuss the U.S. Navy's maintenance mission and witness how shipyard workers keep the fleet fit to fight in this crucial area of operations. Along his tour of the shipyard, Paparo also met with shipyard maintenance personnel and Sailors from USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), which is currently undergoing a maintenance availability.
Paparo took the time to address the Sailors and emphasize their importance in supporting the U.S. Navy's efforts in the Indo-Pacific Command theater.
