CRANE, Ind. – The NavalX Midwest Tech Bridge, which is based out of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), and Indiana Innovation Institute (IN3) conducted the first of many small business events on May 20.

Nearly 140 individuals from across the Midwest registered to participate in the event. The long-term objective of these engagements is to bring the small business events and candid discussions to communities across the Midwest. In the COVID-19 environment, the team elected to use Microsoft teams to host the event.

The lineup of presentations included a discussion about how to do business with Crane from the Small Business Deputy, Matt Burkett, a presentation on Technology Transfer from NSWC Crane's Technology Transfer Director Jenna Dix, a presentation on Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) From Indiana's representative Chris Jeffers, and an overview on the NavalX Midwest Tech Bridge to include factors for success going forward from the Midwest Tech Bridge Director, Anne Fields.

The event culminated with a panel of small businesses: MTI Welding, Pierce Aerospace and IFBattery.  Representatives from each organization participated and presented on how their organizations were impacted by engagement in NSWC Crane's innovation ecosystem.
