EVANSVILLE, Ind.- Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) participated in the third regional federal networking event Thursday at the University of Southern Indiana.

The event was attended by community leaders, entrepreneurs and industry companies to gain a better understanding of how to do business with NSWC Crane and the federal government.

“This event is key to fostering collaboration with Crane,” said Brooke Pyne, NSWC Crane’s Technology Transfer Program Manager. “It offers entrepreneurs, business executives, service providers and potential employees the opportunity to connect with Crane experts and learn how to navigate the federal process that aligns to their specific areas of interest.”

The first workshop provided interested businesses the basic information necessary to sell products and services to NSWC Crane. It also offered answers on how to market a business to Crane and how to obtain certifications to help gain an advantage.

During the T2-focused session, Pyne discussed ways in which the private sector can leverage Crane’s intellectual property and technology commercialization efforts to start a business.

The third workshop, focused on federal employment, helped educate applicants how to navigate the USA Jobs website and how to effectively write federal resumes.

"Regional partnerships are essential to our mission to continue to support the Warfighter," said Kyle Werner, NSWC Crane's Director of Engagement. "Events like this are an excellent way to meet business owners and develop those partnerships at an accelerated rate. We've seen greater participation and interaction with each passing event, and we look forward to continuing to work with local businesses in the future as we continue to expand our innovation ecosystem."

NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The warfare center is responsible for multi-domain, multi- spectral, full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability to today’s warfighter.
