QUANTICO, Va. – Martin Reeve, an employee at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), received a Commander’s Excellence in Acquisition Support Award from the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) on August 8 at Marine Corps Base Quantico.
Reeve was recognized for his support of the Command Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) for Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO-LS). Reeve served as the NSWC Crane task manager for this program, meaning he was responsible for all aspects of the CAC2S efforts including financial, engineering changes, software verification and validation, cybersecurity scanning, and new equipment fielding and delivery.
“It was an honor to be recognized for the efforts of NSWC Crane’s CAC2S team in 2016,” Reeve said. “It is truly reflective of the knowledge and dedication of the whole Crane team’s efforts in supporting this Acquisition Category (ACAT) 1 program.”
This award recognizes individuals and teams who made significant contributions to MCSC's mission accomplishment in 2016. The award was presented to several MCSC Marines and civilians for the following areas: Excellence in Acquisition Support, Excellence in Command Support, Excellence in Contract Management, Excellence in Financial Management, Excellence in Logistics and Product Support, Marine-Air-Ground Task Force Engineering, Excellence in Operations Research and Systems Analysis, Excellence in Program Management, and Innovation.

NSWC Crane serves as the In-Service Engineering Agent and Acquisition Support/Engineering Services Agent (AS/ESA) on the CAC2S for Program Manager, Air Command & Control and Sensor Netting (AC2SN), PEO-LS.
NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The warfare center is responsible for multi-domain, multi- spectral, full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability to today’s warfighter.
