CRANE, Ind. – Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) hosted 10 Navy Senior Technologists (STs) for a two-day meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday. NSWC Crane is regarded as a national technical leader, which is why the base was chosen as the host for such a significant event.
On Tuesday, the STs held panel discussions and group breakout sessions, both of which featured question and answer portions. On Wednesday, the STs had the opportunity to tour NSWC Crane's three main focus areas – Electronic Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare and Strategic Missions.
The 10 STs in attendance represent nearly 25 percent of the Navy's entire Senior Technical Leadership. For most of the STs, it was their first trip to Crane.
"This event offered great exposure for both sides," said Rob Walker, acting Chief Technology Officer at NSWC Crane. "It was very eye-opening for them to see all of the innovative, cutting-edge work being done at Crane, and it was really a good educational experience for us to learn more about Senior Technologists and what they do in support of the Warfighter on a daily basis."
NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The warfare center is responsible for multi-domain, multi-spectral, full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability of today’s warfighter.
