Memphis, Tennessee - Matt Brantz, the Site Director for Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division’s Memphis Detachment, leads a tour of the command’s Large Cavitation Channel in Memphis, Tenn., on July 25, 2024. The group, which featured Carderock partners from academia and government institutions, visited the LCC as part of the Cavitation-Resistant Materials and Coating workshop and watched live erosion testing at the facility. Carderock is one of the Navy’s pre-eminent research and development facilities that specializes in critical ship design components headquartered in West Bethesda, Md. The Carderock Division supports small-scale model testing and evaluation of next-generation surface ships and underwater vessels.
