PORT HUENEME, Calif. - A final prototype setup constructed by University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) mechanical engineering student Matthew Kaplan to model the flow needed in the automated corrosion testing system. The system has a sump pump in the middle and two rotating arms on either side. The five seniors from UCSB, along with Armen Kvryan, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division’s lead materials engineer, have been working on the automated corrosion testing system project since last September.
