Dahlgren, Va - DAHLGREN, Va. (June 15, 2017) - Navy scientist Charles Miller and mathematician Jessica Hildebrand perform pre-flight checks on the SCAPEGOAT chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) detection system. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded a patent to Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) for the SCAPEGOAT system, the command announced on March 27, 2020. Developed by a team of junior scientists and engineers - the unmanned aerial vehicle sensor platform demonstrates the capability to deploy a modular CBR sensor system aboard multiple unmanned aerial vehicle platforms.
