Va. – A middle school student builds a balsa wood tower he designed at the 2016 Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD)-sponsored Navy science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) Summer Academy, held June 27 to July 1. He was one of 96 middle school students who developed their teamwork and problem-solving skills in math and science while partnering with a teacher and an NSWCDD scientist or engineer.
