China Lake, California - China Lake, Calif. - Executive Director Scott O' Neil, right, hands a component to Dr. John Burrow to take a closer look at the intricate parts that are assembled and manufactured in-house at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake. "Additive manufacturing will fundamentally change how we think, how we do business, the cost variable, and how we make decisions," Burrow - Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation - told 3D Printing exhibitors and visitors at the Navy Additive Manufacturing Showcase April 20, 2016. "I think you are about to see its operational and technical potential literally explode off the map." Burrow sponsored the event to explore innovative applications of additive manufacturing that benefit the warfighter and to highlight its impact throughout program lifecycles from early concepts, into component and system testing, and sustainment.
