During the visit, Owens and Cramer met with senior leadership from PHNSY & IMF to assess progress on the Navy’s Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program and tour the shipyard’s dry dock areas that will be modernized beginning in 2023. The first modernization action proposes to construct and operate a new graving dry dock and waterfront production facility to support current and future classes of the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines.

Navy Leaders Emphasize Speed and a Unified Digital Ecosystem at the 2026 Digital Warfighting Symposium

Members of the Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge and 757 Defend and industry, making up the Defense Technology Accelerator cohort, attend the Department of the Navy Digital Warfighting Symposium May 13 in Norfolk, Va. Held in conjunction with the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) East 2026 Maritime Operations and Information Warfare Summit, the Navy-focused event brought together companies and commands to talk through strategies for information dominance in a fast-growing digital ecosystem.
