NUWC Division Newport employees win International System Safety Society Awards

NEWPORT, R.I. - Dan Foley (center), the principal for safety for the Naval Sea Systems Command Submarine Combat and Weapon Control Systems Program Office (PMS 425), receives the 2021 International System Safety Society Engineer of the Year Award from Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport’s Technical Director Ron Vien (left) and Executive Officer Cmdr. Michael Kendel (right) on Sept. 29, 2021. Foley, part of Division Newport’s Undersea Warfare Combat Systems Department, was honored for leading a team that identified safety risks for the BYG-1 Submarine Combat System program.
