Kittery, Maine - Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine, July 7, 2021: Deputy Secretary of Defense Dr. Kathleen Hicks visited the shipyard, joined by PMS 555 Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Program Manager, Capt. Warren LeBeau; Program Associate Director for National Security Programs, Edward Meier; and Deputy Associate Director for National Security Division, Mark Sandy. While on the shipyard, the group received several briefings and toured the Structural Shop Learning Center, new Paint, Blast, and Rubber Shop construction site, toured the USS Texas (SSN 775), and viewed the Dry Dock #1 superflood basin construction site.
