VA - RICHMOND, Va. - Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) engineer Serita Seright, 2nd from left, takes a break with FIRST LEGO League (FLL) mentors and coaches of a student team called the “Robot Engineers" after an FLL competition. The community-based team comprises students, ages 9 to 14, from various schools in the metro-Richmond area. The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) honored Seright in 2016 with its Region II "Professionals Member of the Year" award for her leadership impacting its mission in Virginia at its 42nd National Convention, NSWCDD announced, May 16. Scientists and engineers who mentor and coach the “Robot Engineers" standing left to right: Randall Greene, coach; Seright, mentor; NSBE Richmond Chapter President LaShara Smith, mentor; and NSWCDD systems safety engineer Tiffany Owens, coach.
