Komal Patel is the accounting lead and currently serving as acting Employee Services Division head in Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Panama City Division’s Comptroller Department. She earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and business administration from Florida State University. She received her Certified Public Accountant license from the Florida State Board of Accountancy.

Patel began her civil service career through the Department of the Navy Financial Management Career Program as a financial management trainee and was assigned to NSWC Panama City Division. Serving as the acting Employee Services Division head, Patel ensures NSWC Panama City Division employees are taken care of, from payroll needs to government travel. In this role, she is working to streamline operations for business process improvements that will enable the command to continue to expand the advantage with limited resources. She was recognized with a 2020 Commanding Officer/Technical Director Award in the category of Outstanding Organizational Support during the command’s virtual annual awards ceremony.

Patel said she feels a sense of pride and accomplishment in her role supporting the Navy and the warfighter. “I’m very passionate about the work we do in the NSWC Panama City Comptroller Department and the mission we support,” she said. “I believe everything else comes naturally when you enjoy your work.”
