CRANE, Ind. – Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) held its Annual Buy Indiana Expo at French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana on April 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce hosted more than 500 people and 150 businesses from 15 states at the 2023 Buy Indiana Expo.
Matt Burkett, the Deputy for Small Business at NSWC Crane, says the Buy Indiana Expo was an opportunity for businesses to connect with NSWC Crane.
“For more than twenty years, Buy Indiana has been one of the best ways for businesses to engage with and learn more about NSWC Crane,” said Burkett. “It was great to see people come from all over and engage with NSWC Crane to support its mission. The relationships built and strengthened from Buy Indiana enhance the technological development necessary for today’s Navy. The engagement at this year’s Expo was great! Businesses are eager to learn more about Crane and how they can support the DoD. The interest in supporting Crane is unlike I’ve ever seen.”
Different size businesses attended the event this year is a variety of industries. Many businesses are from Indiana, but attendees come from across the country.
“It was another successful Expo,” says Cheryl Hamilton, the Executive Director for the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce. “We had first time exhibitors join us and we had several repeat exhibitors. As I walked the floor and engaged with all exhibitors; I heard great things. NSWC Crane personnel were engaging, the business-to-business connections were great. This is an event the Linton-Stockton Chamber enjoys hosting and we look forward to our next opportunity.”
Burkett said the event is beneficial for both businesses and NSWC Crane.
“It’s a win-win for both groups,” says Burkett. “NSWC Crane is able to conduct market research about the current technology and businesses landscape. Businesses hear directly from NSWC Crane about current and future mission requirements and can align services as needed.”
