MOBILE, Alabama - The Honorable Robert L. Crowell (left), mayor of Carson City, Nev., welds his initials into the keel plate of JHSV 7 -- the future USNS Carson City -- with the help of Austal USA welder Mr. Tuong Phan during the keel authentication ceremony July 31. JHSVs provide fast intra-theater transportation of troops, military vehicles, equipment and supplies in support of a wide variety of missions.
