Lieutenant Commander Andrew P. Giacomucci is an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officer and a native of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2007 receiving his commission and a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering. He also holds a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and is a graduate of the Maritime Advanced Warfighting School.
His operational assignments include platoon commander at EOD Mobile Unit EIGHT conducting theater security cooperation and humanitarian mine action missions throughout the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility and providing EOD emergency response support to Combined Joint TaskForce - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti; Officer in Charge of EOD Mobile Unit TWELVE Detachment Dahlgren providing EOD emergency response support to Naval District Washington and RDT&E services to NSWC Dahlgren Division; Assistant Current / Future Operations Officer at Naval Special Warfare Development Group; Operations Officer at EOD Mobile Unit SIX deploying in support of CJTFHOA C-IED Task Force SPARTA, and EOD officer and future operations planner on the staff of Commander, U.S Naval Forces Europe / U.S. Naval Forces Africa / U.S. SIXTH Fleet.
He is currently assigned as executive officer, Navy Experimental Diving Unit. LCDR Giacomucci’s awards include various personal and campaign commendations.
