LCDR Chris Osipower, USN

Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) Executive Officer

Originally from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, LCDR Chris Osipower was commissioned in 2006 at the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.  He is an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Officer and honor graduate of the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center and Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

His operational assignments include service at EOD Mobile Unit 8 in Sigonella, Sicily, as EOD Platoon Commander conducting EUCOM Mine Countermeasures (MCM) operations and deploying in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM; at EOD Mobile Unit 3 in San Diego, California, as EOD Platoon Commander attached to SEAL Team 7 deploying in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and NEW DAWN; at EOD Detachment Middle Pacific in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, as Officer in Charge of EOD response operations for Navy Region Hawaii; at Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit 1 in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, as Operations Officer supporting THIRD and SEVENTH Fleet diving and salvage, and deploying to Bahrain as Task Force 56.1, conducting EOD, MCM, diving, and salvage operations within CENTCOM and AFRICOM; and at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as a Troop Commander and Squadron Operations Officer conducting multiple deployments for a Joint Task Force in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE.

LCDR Osipower reported in September 2018 as the Executive Officer of the Navy Experimental Diving Unit (NEDU) in Panama City, Florida.
