Ms. Heather Greenwood is the Deputy Director of SUBMEPP, having assumed these duties subsequent to selection for the position in May of 2013.
Ms. Greenwood began her career with the Navy in July 1982 after attaining a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont. Her initial assignment was as an Engineer in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard's External Engineering Department in Portsmouth NH, planning Submarine Trim & Drain and Hydraulics Systems Modernization.
Ms. Greenwood's career in SUBMEPP (then PERA (SS)) began with her selection as a Program Manager for the Maintenance Standards Program in the summer of 1988 and was enhanced with her attainment of a Masters Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California in 1989. Promoted to a Supervisory Division Head position in the Engineering Division in 1995, she oversaw Maintenance Planning for Steam, Propulsion and Auxiliary Systems. In 1999, she was assigned as Division Head for Class Maintenance Planning for all Submarine Classes.
In 2000, Ms. Greenwood was selected as the Corporate Operations Department Head. Ms. Greenwood's current role as Deputy Director of SUBMEPP entails Maintenance and Availability Planning, Cost Estimation, Special Projects, Corporate Operations, Information Management and Technology and Quality Management and Command Evaluation. Director for Naval Sea Systems Command Undersea Warfare Enterprise for enhancing SUBMEPP's reputation for value and engineering expertise.
