Supply Support
The Navy Supply Support System was developed to identify, document, procure, warehouse and distribute parts required to perform component maintenance. PMS325 utilizes the existing Navy system to support most boats and craft. During the acquisition phase, boat and craft equipment for which maintenance actions will be needed is identified. Essential parts for maintenance task accomplishment are documented using the Interactive Computer Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS). The ICAPS files are then processed through the Weapon System File (WSF) at the Navy's Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) Mechanicsburg. The boats and craft users are then provided with a list of the spare parts requisite to life cycle support (the Allowance Parts List). The boats and craft are also provided with an initial load out of on-board spares and shore-based spares.
The Naval Sea Logistics Center (NAVSEALOGCEN) is responsible for processing and tracking Coordinated Shipboard Allowance List (COSAL) Feedback resolutions. COSAL Feedbacks are the documents that the fleet submits when they find a problem with an APL. NAVSEALOGEN forwards feedback to the Technical Support Activity (TSA) for resolution. NSWC Carderock Division is the TSA for boats and craft and is also responsible for resolving issues related to obsolete equipment.
