Dahlgren, VA - Chief Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician Joe Miller speaks at the National Disability Employment Awareness Month observance held at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division site in Dam Neck, Va., Oct. 28. Miller received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star with Valor after he was severely injured by a land mine in Afghanistan. He received rehabilitation treatment at Bethesda Walter Reed Medical Center where he persevered and was able to walk again in 31 days, returning to work within three months. He fought to remain on active duty status and is preparing for another deployment.
