Our nation's Veterans and Wounded Warriors served with honor.  Their desire to honorably serve continues.

Welcome and Event Information

Welcome to the Department of the Navy Veteran & Wounded Warrior Hiring & Support Summit Website!
This year our theme is "Hire our Nation's Heroes" ~ Meet the Challenge.  Hire a Veteran! ~

Event Information:

Date:  May 9, 2018
Location: Washington Navy Yard Catering and Conference Center, Washington, D.C.

For many wounded, ill and injured service members and disabled veterans, physical and mental healing is only the beginning of their long journey to full recovery. It is a moral obligation to support our nation's heroes and assist them in finding meaningful careers so that they may continue their service to our nation in their civilian life.

The 8th Annual Veteran & Wounded Warrior Hiring & Support Summit continues the momentum to hire Veterans and Wounded Warriors, linking private and public sector leaders and HR professionals with valuable personnel resources - Veterans and Wounded Warriors who are qualified, committed and ready to work!

The Department of the Navy (DoN) is dedicated to hiring and supporting Veterans and Wounded Warriors in the workplace.  In 2010, the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs established the DoN Veteran and Wounded Warrior Hiring and Support Initiative.  With the U.S. Navy Systems Commands and the Office of Civilian Human Resources leading the effort, the DoN hired close to 2,400 veterans who were 30% or more disabled in fiscal year 2014.

Sponsor / Hosts:
The DoN Veteran and Wounded Warrior Hiring and Support Summit is sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs and co-hosted by the U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command, U.S. Naval Air Systems Command and the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.

The summit brings together government, military and industry leaders who are committed to hiring and supporting veterans and Wounded Warriors in the workplace.  These leaders and organizations can offer innovative strategies for successful reintegration, while remaining conscious that today's fiscal environment makes this commitment increasingly challenging.  This forum promotes career development and long-term employment, emphasizing the importance of education, training and mentoring.

Senior military and civilian leaders, subject matter experts.

Intended Audience:
Senior federal, military and industry leaders of the public and private sector, along with their respective human resource professionals and hiring managers; Veterans and Wounded Warriors.
