For many wounded, ill and injured service
members and disabled veterans, physical and mental healing is only the
beginning of their long journey to full recovery. It is a moral obligation to
support our nation's heroes and assist them in finding meaningful careers so
that they may continue their service to our nation in their civilian life.
The 8th Annual Veteran & Wounded Warrior Hiring & Support Summit
continues the momentum to hire Veterans and Wounded Warriors, linking private
and public sector leaders and HR professionals with valuable personnel
resources - Veterans and Wounded Warriors who are qualified, committed and
ready to work!
The Department of the Navy (DoN) is dedicated to hiring and supporting Veterans
and Wounded Warriors in the workplace. In 2010, the Assistant Secretary
of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs established the DoN
Veteran and Wounded Warrior Hiring and Support Initiative. With the U.S. Navy
Systems Commands and the Office of Civilian Human Resources leading the effort,
the DoN hired close to 2,400 veterans who were 30% or more disabled in fiscal

Hiring and Support Summit is sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy
for Manpower and Reserve Affairs and co-hosted by the U.S. Naval
Sea Systems Command, U.S. Naval Air Systems Command and the U.S. Space and
Naval Warfare Systems Command.
The summit brings together government, military and industry leaders who
are committed to hiring and supporting veterans and Wounded Warriors in the
workplace. These leaders and organizations can offer innovative
strategies for successful reintegration, while remaining conscious that today's
fiscal environment makes this commitment increasingly challenging. This
forum promotes career development and long-term employment, emphasizing the
importance of education, training and mentoring.

Senior federal, military and industry leaders of the public and private
sector, along with their respective human resource professionals and hiring
managers; Veterans and Wounded Warriors.
