Electrical

  • high voltage testing of safety equipment (line hose, hoods, gloves, mats, blankets and sleeves) up to 20,000 volts
  • fabricating, installing and testing fiber optics systems

Machining

Manufacturing

  • machine tooling, in-house repair, design, manufacturing and testing
  • accommodating propulsion shafting up to 80' in length and 80 tons, and large work in conventional lathes up to a 12' swing and in horizontal boring mills up to 25' in diameter and 12' high
  • providing turning capabilities up to 48" O.D. by 80' in length and up to 80 tons; precision grinding up to 10" O.D. by 28' in length; I.D. grinding up to 60-56" in length; flat grinding up to 12' in length by 4' width by 5' height; honing of cylinders up to 30" I.D. by 30' in length
  • furnishing full-line of CNC equipment for mass-production or one-of-a-kind manufacturing
  • provide steam-testing capabilities up to 1,200 PSI
  • furnishing full-line of metal and alloy casting
  • designing and manufacturing sheetmetal dies and drop forging dies, and performing drop forging
  • providing complete electroplating services with large components a specialty

Repair

ยท         overhauling, repairing, installing and testing all types of steam generation and combustion control systems, main engines, hydraulic components, generators and ship auxiliaries, pumps (weld repair and testing), valves, aircraft launch and recovery equipment, diesel engines, compressors, and optical alignment systems

Piping

  • installing, servicing and repairing all types of piping systems, from basic plumbing to high-pressure air (5,000 PSI), and steam and hydraulics
  • installing and repairing air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including freon reclamation and oxygen system cleaning
  • furnishing temporary chilled water
  • providing and servicing water coolers, freezers and chill boxes

Rigging/Handling/Weight Testing & Certification

  • providing floating crane services, mobile crane services and waterfront lifting capacities up to 350 tons
  • manufacturing specialized weight handling equipment and various wire rope products
  • repairing and certifying chainfalls and tugits of up to 55 tons
  • testing, certifying, evaluating and maintaining cranes, lifting apparatus and more than 100 types of weight handling equipment
  • auditing various government programs to ensure compliance
  • testing and certifying man-lift baskets, stage-breakers, loading platforms, personnel brows and material handling tubs
  • providing analytical services (trend analysis, oil analysis, sound survey, ultrasounds, NTDs and chemical analyses)
  • preparing custom crane maintenance program including standard and specialized maintenance procedures, test procedures, crane operator instructions and weight handling guidelines
  • developing custom courses and administering training in the operation and maintenance of weight handling equipment

Sandblasting, Painting & Insulation

  • repairing and rebuilding high- and low-pressure pumps, vacuum pumps, paint pumps, paint guns, air compressors and grit blasting equipment
  • performing citric acid cleaning, and abrasive blasting on all-sized objects using a wide variety of media (steel shot, grit, glass beads, mineral slag, sponge, etc.)
  • applying various coatings (teflon, baked-on enamel, electrostatic powder, anticorrosive and antifouling paints, etc.)
  • performing airless and conventional spray painting services
  • providing custom sign painting and silk screening services
  • applying high-temperature insulation (calcium silicate, fiberglass); low-temperature insulation (polyimide, foam plastic, fiberglass); and below-frost insulation (polyimide, foam glass, fiberglass, rockwool)
  • removing and disposing of asbestos (certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia)

Sheetmetal/Ventilation

  • fabricating, installing and repairing lockers, file cabinets, metal joiner doors, counter tops, hoods, bookcases, bookracks, etc.
  • fabricating and repairing spray mods, electrical enclosures and radioracks
  • fabricating, installing and repairing all types of ventilation ducts and doors, foundations, and partitions
  • providing ventilation layout and furniture sketches/drawings
  • performing hazardous atmospheric ventilation and testing (safe-to-enter, hot work, freon, hydrogen, etc.)
  • providing clean areas/tents, ventilation, positive and negative pressure, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration
  • providing dehumidification to reduction gears and components

Steel Fabrication

  • constructing tanks, buildings/compartments, stairs, foundations and other various metallic hardware and equipment
  • drilling, tapping, shearing, shaping, braking, punching, rolling, tempering/annealing, forging and jogging of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • developing CAD/CAM and NC templates
  • performing lead removal operations, shielding and ballast installation and removal, acid etching, hardening of metals, etc.

Welding

  • precision automatic welding, cutting and inspecting of pipe and tube (1/2-12" IPS and 1/4-4" tube) and plasma transferred arc hard facing
  • DNC thermal cutting (ferrous and non-ferrous metals up to 6" thick)
  • submerged arc welding and structural welding (ferrous and non-ferrous structures)
  • thermal spraying applications (machinery repair/corrosion control)
  • plasma cutting of steel members
  • fiber optic/video probe inspecting of pipe internals and mechanized cladding/hard facing (GTAW, GMAW, SAW)
  • filling, testing and certifying oxygen- and nitrogen- compressed gas cylinders
  • filling portable liquid argon containers

Woodworking & Floor Covering

  • repairing and sharpening all woodcutting machinery
  • designing and manufacturing custom cabinets and furniture, and rehabilitating offices
  • providing wooden structures and building maintenance
  • providing mill work, timber sizing and custom wood turning up to 40' in length
  • manufacturing masts and spars for rigging and restoration
  • applying PRC nonskid deck and floor coating
  • laying tile, terrazzo and PRC floors and decks
  • installing carpet and electrical-grade matting

Miscellaneous

  • providing a complete line of diving and underwater services
  • filling and testing of breathing air bottles (Scuba divers, firefighter backpacks, etc.) and life raft bottles up to 5,000 PSI
  • repairing, testing and certifying inflatable life rafts
  • testing airtight, gastight and watertight structures, surface-to-surface seals and gaskets
  • installing zinc anode and cathodic protection
  • certifying samplers for felt wool gasket PCB wipes
  • conducting fibrous asbestos and glass analyses, and various other industrial analyses
