We want engineers in many different disciplines and fields. Positions are available for degreed engineers. In some cases, individuals with degrees in related disciplines might qualify for one of the areas that we are in need of, depending on course work and experience. For example, a mechanical engineer may be hired as a nuclear engineer or industrial engineer. Engineers develop plans and provide technical directions over complex operations involved in the overhaul or replacement of systems on naval ships, both conventionally and nuclear powered.

Job Stability:

Leave:
In addition to ten paid federal holidays, new employees earn thirteen vacation days a year which increases to twenty days after three years and to twenty-six days after fifteen years. Also, employees earn thirteen sick days per year.

Retirement: New employees are automatically covered by the Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS). There are three components to the FERS Benefit. They are: 1) FERS Basic Benefit Plan, 2) Social Security and 3)Thrift Savings Program (TSP). FERS participant may contribute any dollar amount or percentage (1 to 100) of their basic pay. However, your annual dollar total cannot exceed the Internal Revenue Code. The Government automatically contributes 1% to your TSP account and will further match participant contributions up to 4% of your basic salary, bringing the maximum Government contribution to 5%.
