Student Internships

Naval Undersea Warfare Center Newport offers student internships for high school and university students.

University of Rhode Island (URI) - offers student internships through the College of Engineering at the University of Rhode Island.

Undersea Technology Apprentice Program (UTAP) - provides summer internships for high school students (grades 9-12). Two 4-week summer sessions allow students to work part-time alongside scientists and engineers, gaining valuable insight into working with technology and a real world application of what students have learned in school.

Science and Engineering Apprentice Program (SEAP) – brings high school students interested in science and engineering careers on board for a 8-week summer internship and pays the students a stipend. The number of interns varies each year dependent on ONR funding.

Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP) – brings science and engineering students on board for a 10-week summer internship and pays students a stipend. Number of interns varies each year dependent on ONR funding. Students must attend a college or university with a Navy ROTC affiliation
