Where Are We?
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) is located on beautiful St. Andrew Bay in Panama City, Florida, with direct, deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. Panama City provides a perfect location and environment for conducting year-round testing and research. With deep water just minutes from ship's berths, the clear blue-green Gulf of Mexico is as ideal for test and evaluation as for the many recreational uses enjoyed by countless vacationers.
From Airport to Navy Base: Departing the airport, head for entrance/exit and turn right onto to State Hwy 388. Continue straight until reaching State Road 79. Turn left. Continue straight, over the bridge until you reach the first traffic light intersection. This intersects onto Hwy 98. Turn left. Continue straight for approximately 15-20 minutes going through several traffic light intersections. Be watching for a turn off on your right (prior to going over the Hathaway Bridge) that says “NSA Main Gate.” At the traffic light get into the left turn only lane. Continue straight then turn right onto Thomas Drive. You’ll see the base fence along that road. Continue straight until you reach the second traffic light. Turn left. If you need to go into the Visitor Reception Center (VRC), you’ll need to make your way into the right lane. The VRC is the brick building on your right prior to the gate guards.
From the Base to The Airport (Same route)
From Panama City Beach, take Hwy 98 (West) to State Road 79 (North) towards West Bay, continue over the bridge. Turn right onto State Highway 388. Proceed for approximately 4 miles. Airport entrance is on the left.
From Panama City (in town), take State Road 77 (North) through Lynn Haven and Southport. Turn left onto State Highway 388. Proceed for approximately 8 miles. Airport entrance is on the right.
