• Calibration Support for USMC Mobile Calibration Facilities – Operation Iraqi Freedom

Problem

• USMC Mobile Calibration Facilities (CFs) required to support test equipment for USMC units deployed in Iraq
• CFs were not scheduled to be deployed for several months
• CF automated laboratory management system was not yet installed

Solutions

• NSWC Corona personnel traveled immediately to the CF site
  
  • Installed necessary equipment and software to ready the CF for deployment
    
  • System debugged after installation
    
  • Trained the USMC personnel on system use
    
• In theater installation completed in time to meet the accelerated CF deployment schedule

Impact

• The CF was packed and shipped in time to meet the accelerated deployment schedule.
• The readiness, accuracy, and reliability of USMC test equipment necessary to support Marine Corps weapon systems in Iraq was maintained.
