Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCCD), provides a number of opportunities for students to work with, or under the guidance of, our leading scientists and engineers at our world class facilities.

Science & Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP)

Division professional scientists and engineers work with high school students during the summers, to give them a first-hand understanding of professional methods to foster their desire to pursue college-level training that will lead to careers in science and engineering.

Student Volunteer Program (SVP)

NSWCCD offers assignments that relate to the academic endeavors of the student participants. The volunteer work of SVP participants allows them to gain valuable work experience working with top scientist and engineers in their fields of expertise, enhancing their education and career development.

Student Educational Employment Programs

These programs provide the opportunity for students to gain practical job skills while working with, or under the guidance of, experienced personnel through alternating or parallel periods of academic study and career oriented employment.
