NSWC Corona to Discuss Expanding the Advantage in Great Power Competition at WEST 2020

By Candice Villarreal NSWC Corona

Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division is slated to showcase the power of data analytics in addressing today’s great power competition during WEST 2020 at the San Diego Convention Center March 2-3.

NSWC Corona will partner with Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Newport to represent the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) enterprise at Booth 1809. Subject matter experts from various departments and the command’s small business office will be on hand to discuss opportunities and address challenges in outpacing America’s near-peers and adversaries. Question and answer sessions will also be held.

“Our role is to enable the warfighter to fight and win tonight using advanced data analytics and decision science,” said Commanding Officer Capt. Khary Hembree-Bey. “What we do directly impacts the ability of our operational forces to maintain readiness and lethality across the globe, wherever their missions take them. It’s important to make sure we are collaborating with our industry partners to ensure we are forging the connections that will make us more innovative as we move forward.”

Naval Sea Systems Command leverages opportunities at engagements like WEST 2020 to work directly with military partners, industry and academia to strengthen the networks that provide or augment warfighting capabilities.

According to AFCEA International and the U.S. Naval Institute, WEST is the premier naval and sea services conference and exposition, bringing military and industry leaders together so that makers of platforms and designers of technologies can network, discuss and demonstrate warfighting solutions at a single location. NSWC Corona, headquartered in Norco, California, is the Navy's premier independent analysis and assessment agent, using measurement, analysis and assessment to enable our warfighters to train, fight and win. The center analyzes warfare and missile defense systems, provides systems engineering for Live Virtual Constructive training ranges, and advises and administratively manages measurement and calibration standards for the Navy and Marine Corps. Hembree-Bey commands the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) field activity with a workforce of more than 3,700 scientists, engineers, contractors and support staff.
