INDIANAPOLIS – Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) T2 Director, Brooke Pyne, and Deputy for Small Business, Matt Burkett, participated in ‘How to Do Business with NSWC Crane’ on Tuesday, an event hosted by the Indy Chamber of Commerce. Both Pyne and Burkett spoke to attendees about how to access technical equipment, collaborate with Crane, license Navy-developed technology, and more.

The event also gave those in attendance a behind-the-scenes look at what Crane buys, and how it buys it to provide a better understanding on how to market a particular business with Crane.

“Knowledge is power, and sometimes navigating through the Government buying process can be extremely burdensome and frustrating,” Burkett said. “I really want to educate businesses on the opportunities available to work with Crane and equip them with the knowledge they need to better position their business to win contracts with us.”

This event is the latest example of NSWC Crane's ongoing effort to inform, educate and build strong working relationships with the community and potential business partners. Connecting people in this type of forum has the potential to make a significant difference in both the region and the state, where there’s laser focus on economic prosperity, job creation and quality of life.

“Outreach is key to reaching NSWC Crane's long term strategic goals,” Pyne said. “Events like this enable us to not only educate people on partnering with Crane, but also open the door to new service providers and build mutually beneficial partnerships.”

Crane has participated in several networking events throughout the region, including successful stops in Bedford, Washington and Evansville. Economic growth remains a high priority in the state of Indiana, and Crane will continue to play a vital role in that effort through job creation and community outreach.

NSWC Crane is a naval laboratory and a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). NSWC Crane is responsible for multi-domain, multi- spectral, full life cycle support of technologies and systems enhancing capability to today’s warfighter.
