Ally Regan was honored with the 2016 Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Warfare Center Human Resources Division Award – known as the "The Philip Heiler Award for Human Resources Excellence".  The award citation recognized Regan, the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division Staffing and Classification Branch Head, for outstanding recruitment and staffing leadership. She was also recognized for significant contributions to the NAVSEA Warfare Center human resources community as the lead for the staffing community of practice.

Carderock Answers Call to Protect Marine Life with Newly-Commissioned Ballast Water Research Laboratory

Mark Vandroff (right) and Technical Director Dr. Joseph (Tim) Arcano officially open the Ballast Water Research Lab in West Bethesda, Md., Dec. 5, 2016. This new facility provides the Navy with the capability to research, develop, test and evaluate solutions to eliminate or remove aquatic nuisance species from residual water and sedimentation that remain inside ships’ ballast tanks. SERMC Adds New Capability

Seaman Marcell Rainey flushes the U-bend heat exchanger into a pre-staged hazardous waste disposal drum while descaling a marine heat exchanger at Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) Nov. 16th. The solution is neutralized with soda ash or baking soda to neutralize the acid.
