(Sept. 20, 2019) – More than 7,000 fifth-graders from Chesapeake and Virginia Beach elementary schools participated in Naval Air Station Oceana’s fourth annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Lab, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest field trip on record. More than 30 scientists and engineers from Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Dam Neck Activity and NSWCDD volunteered their time and talents to educate the students through hands-on STEM displays.
