IMAGE: KING GEORGE, Va. (May 22, 2019) – Three attendees engage in a virtual reality visualization of Navy ships – inside and out – at the first annual Modeling and Simulation Summit sponsored by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. Two engineers fly around the topside of Navy ships via virtual reality while a third explores the interior of an amphibious transport dock ship’s pilot house.
The event – held at the University of Mary Washington Dahlgren campus – focused on modeling and simulation capabilities in areas such as model-based systems engineering, mission engineering and analysis, theater and force level modeling, computational physics, optimization, virtual reality and 3D scanning.
