(Sept. 25, 2018) – Principal investigator Jake Farinholt briefs a visitor at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) In-house Laboratory Independent Research (ILIR) and Independent Applied Research (IAR) End of Year Review at the University of Mary Washington Dahlgren Campus. Farinholt -- an NSWCDD scientist and expert in quantum computing and quantum cryptography -- explained his ILIR project, "Combinatorial Structures in Quantum Information" to Navy technical managers, engineers, and scientists as well as representatives from academia, industry, transition partners, and other key stakeholders. Funded by the Office of Naval Research, the ILIR and IAR program fosters fundamental and applied research at the Navy Warfare Centers to counter emerging threats by connecting technological needs with current and emerging capabilities.
