Master Chief Courtney C. Roach, USN

Command Master Chief, Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y.

Master Chief Courtney Roach is a native of Monterey, Virginia. He enlisted in the Navy in September 1999 and attended recruit training at RTC Great Lakes, Illinois with follow-on training at Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC) and Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) Ballston Spa where he qualified as a Machinist’s Mate. 

Master Chief Roach’s previous assignments include: NPTU Ballston Spa, Ballston Spa, NY; USS SALT LAKE CITY (SSN 716), San Diego, CA; NNPTC, Goose Creek, SC; USS TEXAS (SSN775), Pearl Harbor, HI; USS SEAWOLF (SSN 21), Bremerton, WA; and COMSUBLANT, Norfolk, VA where he served as the Force Mechanic and as the first Force Nuclear Information Technology Specialist.  He is currently serving as the Command Master Chief of NPTU Ballston Spa.

Master Chief Roach is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 205) and the Chief of the Boat/Command Master Chief course (Class 17120). He has qualified Enlisted Submarine Warfare and Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare. 

Master Chief Roach’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
