The Naval Engineering Education Consortium (NEEC) cultivates a world-class naval engineering workforce through student participation in project-based research conducted at colleges and universities.  Directed by NAVSEA Warfare Center headquarters and implemented at ten Divisions across the country, NEEC projects target the Navy’s most relevant technology needs.

The three primary objectives of NEEC are to:

Acquire academic research results and products to resolve Naval technology challenges

Hire college graduates with Naval engineering research and development (R&D) experience into the NAVSEA workforce (Bachelor's, Master's and PHD degrees)

Develop/continue exceptional working relationships with Naval engineering colleges, universities, professors & academics

How to join: Formal NEEC partnerships are established via grants that define Naval-related projects with student participation. The grant process initiated by a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) provides a way for our technical workforce to connect with expertise and students (as potential employees) at the academic institution. The NEEC BAA is posted in the fall on grants.gov.

Consortium Partners: In addition to the ten NAVSEA Warfare Center Divisions, with potential to include other Navy commands, NEEC is comprised of more than 40 academic institutions.
