The Seneca Lake Sonar Test Facility resides in upstate New York in the Finger Lakes region. It is approximately 108 km (67 miles) from Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, N.Y .and 95 km (59 miles) from Greater Rochester International Airport in Rochester, N.Y. It is also accessible using the New York State Barge Canal System.

Directions from Syracuse, N.Y.:
From the Hancock International Airport in Syracuse, N.Y., proceed to the New York Thruway (I-90) heading west toward Rochester, N.Y and Buffalo, N.Y. After about 64.4 km (40 miles; New York Thruway marker 327) take Exit 42 and proceed south on Route 14 toward Geneva, N.Y. (about 9.7 km (6 miles)). At Geneva, N.Y., Route 20 and Route 5 (local) cross Route 14. Continue south on Route 14 toward Dresden, N.Y. After another 24.1 km (15 miles) on Route 14, turn left at the blinking yellow light onto Route 54 proceeding east. Proceed east (up the hill) on Route 54 for about 0.8 km (0.5 miles). The Seneca Lake Facility is located on the right at the top of the hill. Please park in the designated parking lot and sign in at the guardhouse.

Directions from Rochester, N.Y.:
From the Greater Rochester International Airport in Rochester, NY, proceed on Interstate Route 490 (I-490) east toward the New York Thruway (I-90) east. After proceeding east about 23.7 km (14.7 miles), get on the New York Thruway heading east toward Syracuse, N.Y. After about 37.5 km (23.3 miles) take Exit 42 and proceed south on Route 14 toward Geneva, N.Y. (about 9.7 km (6 miles)). At Geneva, N..Y, Route 20 and Route 5 (local) cross Route 14. Continue south on  Route 14 toward Dresden, N.Y. After another 24.1 km (15 miles) on Route 14, turn left at the blinking yellow light onto Route 54 proceeding east. Proceed east (up the hill) on  Route 54 for about 0.8 km (0.5 miles). The Seneca Lake Facility is located on the right at the top of the hill.
