NSWC Philadelphia Division supports a broad range of outreach programs in order to inspire students to pursue careers in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines to develop the future workforce, as well as provide opportunities for engagement to develop the current workforce.

NSWCPD’s STEM Outreach Program is currently supporting:

 

Career Days:

NSWCPD offers a variety of engagement opportunities for students to inspire, educate, and motivate them to pursue careers related to Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM). These opportunities include summer camps, career presentations, hand-on demonstrations, test site tours, and more!

FIRST Robotics:

FIRST Robotics is an exciting, mentor-based, research and robotics programs that helps students become science and technology leaders, as well as well-rounded contributors to society. NSWCPD provides numerous FIRST Robotics teams with mentorship and aides teams in securing grants (Grades Pre-K – 12).

Naval Robotics:

NSWCPD mentors and judges middle school, high school, and collegiate naval robotics teams in a variety of programs including SeaPerch, SeaGlide, RoboBoat, and more! NSWCPD also co-hosts the Greater Philadelphia SeaPerch and SeaGlide Challenge.

Internships & Scholarships:

Paid STEM internship and scholarship programs are offered by NSWCPD including high school and collegiate programs including SEAP, NREIP, SMART, and more.  These programs encourage students to pursue STEM careers with the Department of the Navy, enhance education and mentorship, encourages student participation in research, and exposes students to STEM opportunities.

Science Fairs & Festivals:

NSWCPD offers a variety of opportunities engaging students for regional science fairs & festivals including judging & STEM demonstrations!
